Q

what were Dalton’s theories about the atomic model?

A

everything is made of tiny spheres (atoms)
atoms are indivisible
all atoms of one element are identical in mass and properties

Q

what were Thompson’s about the plum-pudding model?

A

atoms were positively charged matter with negative electrons embedded within it
atoms have no overall charge

Q

what were theories of Rutherford’s about the nuclear model?

A

positively charged nucleus with negative electrons around the outside
(found this by firing alpha particles at a gold sheet of foil, most particles went straight through but some bounced back- showed that most of the atom was empty space)
