What are the three branches of the government?
Executive, judicial, and legislative
What does the executive branch consist of?
The president and various advisors (including the president’s cabinet) and government departments, such as the State Department.
What does the legislative branch consist of?
Two houses of Congress: the Senate and the House of Representatives.
What does the judicial branch consist of?
The federal court system including the Supreme Court.
What is capital?
Something that can produce income. Businesses use capital with labor and materials to create goods or services.
What are markets?
Systems that allow buyers and sellers to distribute and consume goods.
What is supply and demand?
When there is competition in the market, supply and demand affect the price that an item will be offered for.
What is an immigrant?
People who move to the United States from other countries.
