How did the church provide structure?
A late-medieval community felt that prayers made toegether were the most potent. The establishment of the church provided a framework for the individual’s thoughts as one must follow the rules of religion carefully to get into heaven.
How important was Catholic mass?
It was very important, it was the central religious experience of the cathologic church. Sacred ritual that the whole community participated in.
What was the church for disadvantaged people?
The Church provided charity.

What did Lollards believe about the Catholic Church?

Who was John Colet?
An English Theologian and educator. His feverent denunciation of ecclestial abuses were so intense that he was suspected of heresy.
Who was Erasmus?
- Dutch Scholar and Humanist.
- He criticised ecclestial abuses and wanted to move catholicism back to the roots of christianity.
- He ultimately remained Ctaholic but had sympathy for some protestant’s reforming instincts.
What are humanists concerned with?
They were particularly concerned with establishing the reliability of latin and greek translations in order to purify the ideas of religious texts.
