Q

What was Sperry’s split brain research

A

Sperry (1968)
studied 11 patients who had a corpus colostomy.
Sperry projected info into participants visual fields. Manipulating what info went into each field.
Participants were then tested on whether they could see, draw or pick out the object they had interacted with.

Q

What were the founding’s of Sperry’s split brain research

A

Information presented to the left hemisphere could be spoken but it couldn’t if it was presented to the right hemisphere.

Information presented to the right hemisphere could be drawn or picked out from objects with the left hand.

Research supports that each hemisphere of the brain works independently
