What’s RAM
Random access memory that is volatile and will lose data when power is lost. It stores currently used files and programs.
What’s ROM?
Read only memory. It is non-volatile that doesn’t lose data when power is lost. It cannot be written to. ROM stores BIOS bootstrap so the computer is able to load and bootup.
What 3 things affect the CPU?
Cache
Clockspeed
Number of cores
What’s cache?
Memory that stores frequently used files and data which makes it quicker to access and use.
What are the 3 types of CPU?
Harvard
Von Neumann
Contemporary
What do cores do?
Complete multiple instructions simultaneously but not faster.
What are the 3 buses in the CPU?
Control bus
Data bus
Address bus
