A combination of yellow sulfide of arsenic, quick line, and rose water that was used as a crude hair removal agent by ancient Turks
Rusma
Anything that keeps a client from receiving services
Contraindications
Removal of hair by an electric current that destroys the root of the hair
Electrolysis
Uses light that destroys the growth cells of the hair follicles
Photoepilation
Rapid, gentle laser beam pulsed on the skin impairing the hair follicle
Laser hair removal
Most common temporary hair removal method. Mostly used on men and large areas on women
Shaving
Used to shape eyebrows and remove hair from around the mouth and chin temporarily
Tweezing
Transmits radio frequency energy down the hair shaft into the follicle destroying the papilla by dehydration
Electronic tweezers
Substance usually a caustic alkaline preparation used for temporary removal of superfluous hair by dissolving it at the skins surface
Depilatory
Removes the hair by pulling it out at the follicle
Epilator
Temporary hair removal by a cotton thread that is twisted and rolled along the skins surface entwining the hair and lifting it from the follicle
Threading
Temporary hair removal that uses a thick, sugar based paste; is especially appropriate for more sensitive skin types
Sugaring
presence of excessive bodily and facial hair, usually in women
