What is weaning?
The gradual introduction of solid food into a babies diet.
Why do babies need to be weaned at six months old?
To provide iron because the store of iron in a babies liver will be running out at this stage. Solid food will also contain carbohydrates to provide energy for rapid growth.

Why are babies not weaned before six months old?
Babies digestive system are not ready to cope with anything other that breast or formula milk until around 6months old

Why
Full fat milk/whole milk/cows milk.
They need the extra calories for growing.
Why should children up to 3 years old not be given too much fibre?
Fibre absorbed water and swells in the stomach and could make the child feel too full and therefore they may not want to eat enough to provide essential nutrients.
