Pampanuto
White grape variety found in Puglia, specifically Castel del Monte.
-Large, waxy grapes
-Can be used in frizzante and spumante wines
-Light with low acidity
-Often used to soften Trebbiano or Bombino Bianco
Impigno
A crossing of Bombino Bianco and Quagliano
Francavilla
-Used in the production of varietal and blended white wines
-Primarily grown in and around the coastal area of Brindisi
-Commonly blended with other local specialties Impigno and Verdeca
-Permitted in the white blends of the Ostuni DOC to a maximum of 50 percent.
-Delicate floral and herbaceous aromas Its soft signature flavor is of bitter almonds, moderate levels of alcohol
-Light and fresh wine
Susumaniello
-Deep ruby hue and aromas of red berries and plums.
-Richer, more concentrated examples show spicy, peppery aromas and flavors of dark chocolate
-Most research shows it came to Puglia across the Adriatic, perhaps from Greece or the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia
