Grammatical Rules Flashcards
ska or kommer att
SKA
ska is used when there is human intent, action is definite and the events are in your control (I am going on holiday tomorrow)
pronoun + ska + infinitive verb
jag ska vara - I will be
hon ska ha - she will have
tänker can be used instead of ska if the intention is weaker (I intend to go on holiday this summer)
KOMMER ATT
kommer att is used when the action is unsure and the events are out of your control (I will be going to Spain on a business trip)
pronoun + kommer att + intinitive verb
det kommer att regna imorgon - it will rain tomorrow
att is typically omitted when spoken but is always used in writing
min, mitt or mina (and others)
EN OR ETT
articles can change depending on whether it precedes en words, ett words or plurals
min hund - my dog (en word)
mitt barn - my child (ett word)
PLURALS
mina barn och mina hundar - my children and my dogs
when using plurals it doesn’t matter whether they were originally an en or ett word as mina would be used for both
den, det, de or dem
THE
den can mean ‘the’ rather than ‘it’ when followed by an adjective and noun
den, det, de or dem + adjective + definite noun
den stora hunden - the big dog
THAT
if there is no adjective before the noun then they can also mean ‘that’
den, det, de or dem + definite noun
den hunden - that dog
NAMES
they don’t have to be used when the phrase is a name so vita huset is The White House but det vita huset is the white house
