A

Direct speech or indirect speech
E.g. she said ‘I am a teacher’ or Charlene said she is a teacher
Used only when you want to say , he she they said that something is a noun
E.g. - 감사합니다 라고 말하다 - to say thank you
이 사람이 학생이라고 말하다 - to say this person is a student
경은 선생님이 이 사람 학생이라고 했어요 - kyeong-eun teacher said that this person is a student
학생 아니라고 말하다 - to say that he she they is not a student

A

Same as 라고 however if you want to put another noun afterwards you must change it to 라는
E.g. - 학생이라는 사람 - the person who they say is a student
책이라는 것 - the thing that they call a book

여기에 스쿨푸드라는 식당이 있어요 - the restaurant that is called school food is here
내일 알렉스라는 친구가 올 거예요 - tomorrow a friend named Alex will come here

Descriptive verbs don’t change - 예쁘다 - 예쁘다

E.g. 이거 좋다!!
여기 강아지 있다!!
전화 온다 - the phone is ringing
나 먼저 간다 - I’m leaving now
그럼 나는 여기서 기다린다 - then I’ll wait here
