Pill everyday for 9 weeks followed by 4 or 7 day pill free interval
What is treatment for UTI if both nitrofuratoin and trimethoprim are contraindicated?
Pivmecillinam 400mg initial dose then 200mg TDS for 3 days
Why should down syndrome patients avoid trampolines?
Higher risk of atlantoaxial instability if they fall leading to neural compression
In which condition is ulipristal acetate (ellaOne contraindicated)
Asthma - esp severe so if the patient is taking steroids
How long do patient need contraception for in post menopause?
They have to be amenorrhoeic for 2 years before they can stop if under 50 or 1 year if over 50
What are the cancer risk associated with COCP?
Reduced ovarian and endometrial but increased breast and cervical cancer risk
What to be aware of with eczema treatment in darker skin?
Topical corticosteroids can induce depigmentation

Active chlamydia infection
What is first line treatment for oral thrush?
150mg oral fluconazole single dose
How many cigs is an absolute contraindication to COCP?
Being over 35 and smoking over 15 cigs
In progesterone only pills what time period is considered a missed pill?
More than 12 hours. If late on taking the POP that day just take it as soon as possible

NSAIDs unless heart failure then give colchicine

LH - LH spikes just prior to ovulation
What can a statin do to muscles?
Can cause myalgia - if CK is 5 x upper limit of normal stop the statin

Either within 48 hours of giving birth of 4weeks after
How should COCP use be done before surgeries?
Stop 4 weeks before and use other method as it’s a risk for VTE. Then restart 2 weeks after surgery
Which antibiotic when drinking alcohol can cause flushing, tachycardia and nausea/ vomiting?
Metronidazole - causes a disulfiram like reaction. Avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours after stopping treatment
