Organisation-wide defaults
OWD settings define the default level of access to records within an organization. They determine the baseline visibility of records for different objects. OWD settings include options such as “Private,” “Public Read Only,” or “Public Read/Write.” By adjusting these settings, you can control the initial visibility of records.
Role hierarchy
Salesforce allows you to create a role hierarchy to define reporting relationships within the organization. The role hierarchy affects data visibility by enabling users higher in the hierarchy to access records owned by users below them. By leveraging the role hierarchy, you can ensure that users at higher levels can see and access relevant records owned by their subordinates.
Sharing rules
Sharing rules are used to extend access to records beyond the organization-wide defaults for specific groups of users. Sharing rules can be based on criteria such as record ownership, location, or specific fields. They allow you to selectively grant read or read/write access to records to certain users or groups.
Manual sharing

Permission sets
Permission sets allow you to grant additional permissions and access rights to specific users or groups beyond their existing profiles. With permission sets, you can provide specific data visibility privileges to users who require additional access beyond their default profile settings.
