What is the purpose of using resin in GIC?
GIC is sensitive to water early. Resin makes it less sensitive to water.
What is set cement composed of?
Set cement is a composite of original glass particles sheathed by siliceous hydrogel and bonded by matrix phase consisting of hydrated fluoridated calcium and aluminium polysalt
How can a pink shadow be fixed in a restoration?
Pink shadow can be fixed with calcium hydroxide, then vitrabond, and then composite.
Why is vitrabond put under composite?
GIC + resin = vitrabond. It is placed underneath composite.
What is acid etching and conditioning?
Acid etching is use of phosphoric acid to dissolve outside of tooth to make it suitable for bonding to composite materials.
Conditioning cleans tooth surface and removes smear layer without demineralization.
