Geometry (Perimeters & Areas) Flashcards
Perimeters, Areas, Circumference, Diameter, and Distance Formula
What is the perimeter of a right triangle?
P = base + height + hypotenuse
What is the perimeter of a triangle?
P = a + b + c
(where a, b, and c are the sides of a triangle)
What is the perimeter of a square?
P = 4s
(where s is the side of the square)
What is the perimeter of a rectangle?
P = 2l + 2w
[where l is the length and w is the width]
What is the circumference of a circle if you know the diameter?
C = πd
What is the circumference of a circle if you know the radius?
C = 2πr
What is the area of a right triangle?
A = ½bh
(where b is the base, and h is the height)
What is the area of a triangle?
A = ½bh
(where b is the base, and h is the height)
What is the area of a rectangle?
A = lw
(where l is the length and w is the width)
What is the area of a circle?
A = πr^2
What is the area of a square?
A = s^2
(where s is the side of the square)
What is the area of a cube?
A = 6s^2
(where s is the side of the cube)
What is the base area of a cylinder?
BA = πr^2
(where r is the radius)
What is the area of a sphere?
A=4πr^2
What is the diameter of a circle?
D = 2r
