The World Bank Describes Globalization as “a rising tide that can fit all boats”. Discuss the validity of this statement using one or two examples we have discussed in class.
The reality is complicated. There are some instances where globalization has lifted some people out of poverty and given them some options (Columbian, Bangladeshi case study)
What is the role of the World Trade Organization (WTO)? Describe one critique surrounding the WTO using an example from the course materials.

CSA: Increase agricultural productivity, Enhance resilience, reduce GHG emissions. Criticized for promoting technocratic solutions, favoring wealthier farmers and potentially creating uneven resilience.
Agroecology: Prioritizes ecological sustainability, Social equity, and food sovereignty. Criticized for lacking technological adoption, perceived as ideologically driven.
In her guest lecture, Catherine Mungai introduced the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, which guides biodiversity policy and action. Outline one of these targets, and briefly explain how it might advance development outcomes.
Increase greenspace to promote wellbeing and biodiversity. Health is an indicator of development (SDGs). Food can be grown to increase food and income, as well as create jobs.
