General Cash Concepts Flashcards
Typically, are online cash games or live cash games tougher?
Online cash games due to the number of hands played. Win rates are lower.
You have a $800 stack in a $1/$3 cash game and raise to $10 from the LJ. The BB calls off of his $300 stack. What is the effective stack?
100 BB. $3/300 = 100BB
$3 is the big blind. Divide by 300, the opponent’s stack. Equals 100 BB for the effective stack.
True or False: As the effective stack gets shallow (<40bb), big cards and pairs go up in value and suited connectors and other hands that rely on implied odds go down in value.
True. At shorter stacks, top pair becomes very valuable. Hands that rely on implied odds go down in value because when you make nutted hands like straights and flushes, you win less money.
When set mining in general, what are the minimum implied odds that you want to be getting to call?
10 to 1. You want to be getting at least 10/1 implied odds. You will make a set about 11.8% of the time when holding a pocket pair, so you want to make sure that when you’re purely set-mining, that it will be profitable to call.
What percentage of the time will you make a set while holding pocket pairs?
11.8%
How often will pocket Aces win?
80%
