Forces In 3D Space Flashcards
1
Q
If the cosine angles are dependent of each other, what can we work out
A
The change in force from the change in angle
Fx = Δx/Δ F (same for any axis)
Fx = new force in x direction
Δx = change in x (x2-x1)
Δ = sqrt(Δx^2 + Δy^2 + Δz^2)
F = force
2
Q
When working with resultant forces in space how do you work out the magnitude and direction of R
A
Magnitude R = sqrt(Rx^2 + Ry^2 Rz^2)
Direction cos θx = Rx/R (same for other axis)
