What are the main food groups ?
Carbohydrates, Protein, Fats (lipids), vitamins, minerals, fiber, fruits and veggies
and water
What do you Carbohydrates do?
They provide energy for the body’s daily activities and functions.
What do proteins do?
Essential for growth, repair, and maintenance of body tissues; also involved in enzyme production
What do fats (lipids)?
Provide energy, support cell growth, protect organs, and help the body absorb vitamins.
What do vitamins help with ?
Support various bodily functions, such as immune function, energy production, and vision.
What do minerals help with?
Important for bone health, nerve function, and fluid balance like calcium, iron and potassium
What does fiber help with?
Aids digestion, helps prevent constipation, and may support heart health. It is found in fruits, vegetable, whole grains and legumes
How does water benefit us?
Vital for hydration, temperature regulation, and transporting nutrients and waste throughout the body.
