A
1) patient selection
- based on caries risk
- special needs eg medically compromised
2) tooth selection
- sound teeth with deep fissures that are difficult to clean
- if got occlusal caries in one permanent 6 then seal fissures of other 6s, assess need to seal 7s when they erupt sufficiently
- dental anomalies like dens e, dens inv tc

A
- poor moisture control eg partially erupted nia then dont do
- caries into dentine, must do PRR liao
- uncooprative px

A
ADA 2008:
decreases caries incidence by 86% at 1 year to 79% at 2 years and 59% at 4 years
- effectiveness decreases because fs may partuially dislodge
