Nathan is the one who told David that he could not build the Temple because he was a man of war.

Son of Saul, good friend of David. Eats honey without knowing that his father said not to eat food, Saul then attempts to put him to death. He is saved by the soldiers and does not die at that time.

Saul
King of Israel, anointed by Samuel. So humble he was hiding among “stuff” on coronation day. Later became prideful, kicked against pricks, persecuted and tried to kill David, and the Lord removed his favor from him.

Uzzah
The poor soul who died after trying to stabalize the Ark of the Covenant when it was about to fall.
Gideon
One of the redeemers of Israel. Asks 3 miracles to prove God has chosen him. Judges 6:36-40. Gathered an army, then as commanded by God, thins down his army by first sending home those that were scared, then when they come to a river, those that took off their armor and stuck their faces in the river to drink were sent home. only 300 were left.

Prophet. His mother Hannah wanted a child and prayed promising God that if she had a child she would give him to God. Samuel ended up being raised by Eli. When about 12-13 years old, Samuel heard the voice of the Lord and after asking Eli multiple times, Eli told him that it was the Lord. Anoints Saul as first King after

High priest who raised Samuel. Did not correct his sons sufficiently when they were doing very bad things and was chastened for it.

Killed by Ehud. Ehud stabbed him and Eglon was so fat that Ehud couldn’t pull the sword back out. Then “the dirt came out.”

Great leader, for some reason has to keep his covenant with the Lord to sacrifice his daughter. If anyone has anything better for this, that would be nice.

Killer of fat Eglon. Lost his sword in the act.
Bathsheba
La pobrecita. Seen by David while taking a ritual bath, likely after “that time of the month” as stated in lecture. Eventually, her husband Uzzah is killed on the front lines of battle (as mandated by David) and she is taken by David as one of his wives.
Rahab
Stated as a prostitute. She was lauded for her faith. She hides two of Joshua’s spies.
Michal
Daughter of Saul. First wife of David. She hides David and helps him escape.
Hannah
Samuel’s mother, wife of Elkanah.

At Saul’s request, “summoned Samuel’s spirit” in order to get guidance of what to do with the Philistines.
Ruth
Handmaiden of Naomi. Wouldn’t abandon her after death of Naomi’s husband. Goes to work for Boaz and eventually marries him.

Abigail
Abigail, Nabal’s wife, intervenes and takes the blame upon herself. When she tells Nabal about what she had done a day later, he freaks out and soon after dies. David heard about his death and takes Abigail to wife.
Nabal
Apparently owed king David for prior favors, but when David sent his men to go get food and provisions, Nabal denied that he even knew King David. David got angry and sent 400 men to go “take care” of Nabal.

Prophetess. Barak refuses to go to battle against Siscera without her

Bathsheba’s husband who was away at battle when David adulterated with Bathsheba. Would not sleep with his wife when he was summoned back because the other men did not have that privilege. Killed by David.
