What positions is a breast exam done in?
Both seated and supine
-can see the breast dimpling while upright and palpate both ways

How does a patient’s breast change during pregnancy?
The breast enlarges 2-3x more and areolae diameter increases
What exogenous substances can make breasts tender?
Caffeine and alcohol
What areas should you include when looking at the breast, besides just breast tissue?
The tail of spence and lymphatic drainage
For a male breast exam, what should you look at?
inspect the nipple and areola for nodules, swelling, ulceration
-palpate the areola and breast tissue
What cause of nipple discharge is common in post menopausal women and is greenish-brown in color?
Duct ectasia
Elevated prolactin levels and laction in a non-childbearing woman?
Galactorrhea
What is paraphimosis?
Retraction of a tight prepuce behind the glans
What is phimosis?
inability to reduce foreskin over the glans
