Define fibres
Basic raw materials/ Thin hair like structures that can be converted into yarns.
Define yarns
These are long continuous threads that can be directly woven into fabrics.
Define fabrics
Pieces of cloth we use to make clothes.
Describe the process of:
Making yarns
Making fabrics
•We make yarns by twisting or spinning fibres
•we can make fabrics by the use of weaving or knitting.
Describe the process of how fibres are processed in to yarns and then finally fabrics
Fibres are the basic raw materials used to make long & continuous threads called yarns, these yarns are then woven into fabrics which are used to make stitched clothes for us.
What type of clothes are preferred by us in summer, winter and why?
In summer people prefer soft and lighter clothes usually made out of cotton, because they are cool to wear,
In winter we prefer cozy & thick Woolen fabrics, because they shield our bodies from coldness
What are
Jute fibers, acrylic fibres
Which category of fibres can they be found?
Jute- strong fabrics with tensile strength and are found from plant fibres.
Acrylic- soft and glassy fibres and are found from synthetic fibres
