What factors are affecting family planning?

A

Social economic status ( due to bad finances, couples are encouraged to have a number that they can manage financially)

Age, most women these days are having children in their premenopausal years as this is reducing their chances of having any.

Cultural norms, certain cultures believe in having a large family as a sign of blessings.

Laws, in some over populated countries eg China, a law was passed in that only a certain number of children are allowed per couple.

Fertility, this affects a couples chances of having children especially if one is infertile or has very low chances of fertilisation.

A

Natural method: no foreign material is used.

Barrier: foreign material is used eg condoms and IUDs

Hormonal : birth control methods that act on endocrine system

Permanent or surgical: also called sterilisation, prevents all future pregnancies.
