when do palatal shelves originate and grow down, when does growth continue until

A

they originate and grow down from maxillry processes in 7th and 8th weeks
vertical growth continues and completes around the third month of gestation!!

when does secondary palate form and how do shelves contribute/when

A

secondary palate formation, palatal shelf ELEVATION occurs in 7th and 8th weeks

tongue goes down and shelves go up.
in the 9th-12th weeks, its formed /nasal septum connects to the palatal shelves , and the palatal shelves have FUSED at midline – epithelial seam!!!
