How does the extemp draw work?
1.Topics are divided into categories. 2. Before the competition, a pool of topics is prepared based on the categories. 3. When its a speakers turn to draw, they select a topic at random from the pool. 4. Once they have the topice they have a limited amount of time (30 minutes) to prepare their speech before delivering it to the audience.

Reliability - Evidence from sources. Currency - recent evidence. Accuracy - Make sure the information is right. Balance - look at all the perspectives. Attribution - Cite your sources. Ethical Use - No plagiarism.
