During the time of hte Pilgrim, Massasoit was their leader. Later Metacomet, also known as King Philip, led them into a war known as King Philip’s War. These Native Americans tried to keep their land, but they lost. Many were killed. Some were enslaved or forced to leave. After this, there were very few Native Americans left in New England.
