How does the ignition system work?

A

two engine driven magnetos and two spark plugs per cylinder provide the jump. To start though the battery provides electric power to operate a starter through series of gears it rotates the engine crankshaft.

What causes carb icing?

A

vaporizing of fuel combined with expansion of air. it can drop 60 degrees in the process. most likely to occur when temp is below 70 degrees and relative humidity is above 80%

What should be done if detonation is suspected?

A

Use enriched fuel mixture, and shallow climb to cool the engine during takeoff and climb.
Avoid extended, high power, steep climbs
