Describe the progress and the dark side of the roaring 20’s.

A

During the roaring 20’s the red scare was going on. The F.B.I. was created. There was more money than what was needed.Most families had a car. People used a lot of electrical appliances. Skyscrapers were built. There was a can-do attitude. Women entered the workforce in large numbers. Women were allowed to vote. Women ( flappers) began to wear makeup, would smoke and drink. Golden age of movies. Farmers were getting poorer and poorer. They would rent a farm instead of owning it. There was very high crime. Alcohol Prohibition. There was disillusionment.(with writers, artists, musicians)

How did the U.S. stayed officially neutral during WWII?

A

“Cash and Carry” policy ( 1939)

 - Nations such as Germany and Britain had to pay in cash for the supply they wanted. They also had to pick up the supply on their own. - Lend-Lease) Program ( 1941)
 - Britain run out of money in 1941 , so the U.S. created this program to lend supplies to Britain but they would have to return them once the war is over.

Albert Einstein -German Jew, managed to escape war, warned FDR that an ATOMIC BOMB is possible, he said Germans were working on one.
-J. Robert OppenHeimer, an american Jew in charge of the project, was known as “father of the Atomic Bomb”.
