Energy Flashcards
3 Methods of Heat Transfer
Conduction, Convection, and Radiation
Heat Transfer
The movement of heat from one object to another
Conduction
When to objects are in direct contact transferring heat
Convection
When occurs with fluids and gasses.
Convection Current
Heated liquid cools down and becomes more dense and sink. The fluid heated again will become less dense and rise.
Radiation
Is heat transferred by waves, It can travel through the vacuum of space
Incandescent
Light sorce that is hot
Bioluminescent
Light source from an animal of algae
Non Luminous
Something that reflects light from a light source
Luminous
Light source that has no heat
Kinetic energy
Energy that is in a motion
Potential energy
Is stored energy due to its position
Energy transformation
Is the change of energy from one form to another
Energy transfer
Movement of energy from one place to another
