Emergency signals anyone can do
Stand where the driver can see you and raise both arms straight up above your head,
at night time: a torch or red light must be waved from side to side quickly, facing the train/track machine
DANGER - STOP may be indicated by any of the following
exhibiting a red light/flag, any light waved vigorously, raising both arms above the head, one continuous whistle from the railway vehicle, three audible track warning devices (ATWD) or a radio instruction to “STOP” or “Red Light”
Information to Say during a radio Emergency call
EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY, Role Title, Train ID and Location, Type of Emergency, Number of People involved, Emergency services required. (Stay on channel/phone until told otherwise)
Reporting an emergency and/or incident
where possible complete an incident report immediately after an emergency with your supervisors. Where you do not have access to an incident report immediately after an accident, make clear precise notes to assist you to formally report the incident accurately post the incident
