A

Protestant: Protestants challenged the old Catholic beliefs. Their churches featured plain walls and wooden alters.
Catholic: Catholic Churches featured colourful images and decorated alters.
Puritans: extreme Protestants, who wanted to take the reformation further.

There were 30million catholics(1588) by 1603 only 40,000.
Some opposition still remained, an assassination attempt to the the new king, James I (the gunpowder plot)
