Electronics Flashcards
whats the symbol for a transistor
—-[][][][][]—-
whats the formula for solving resistor values
digit digit multiplier
whats the formula for find total resistance in a series circuit
RT = R1 + R2
What is ohms law
V = I X R
Formula for calculation total resistance in parallel circuits
RT = R1 X R2 / R1 + R2 |or| 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
What is the formula to find the power in electrical Circuits
P = V X I |or| P = V^2/R |or| P = I^2 X R
Whats the formula for voltage dividers
V1/R1= V2/R2 = Vs/RT
What is a thermistor
A thermistor is a deceive whose resistance varies with temperature is is a temperature dependent resistor. it can either be when temperature increases resistance decreases or when temperature increases resistance increases.
Whats is a LRD (light dependent resistor)
The LDR is a component whose resistance depends on the light falling on it. its resistances changes with light level. in bright light its resistance is low in darkness its resistance is high or it could be the other way around.
what is a variable resistor
A variable resistor can be used in a circuit to control the current of a device. they are usually used in voltage dividers to adjust the sensitivity of the input.
what is a transistor
its a switch that will turn on when an appropriate input signal is applied to the base an output current will then flow at the collector or emitter.
what is the formula for current gain
Hfe = Ic/Ib
What is a relay
relays are output switches from electric or electronic circuits. These output switches are used as inputs for other circuits.
if an LDR is at the top of a circuit what happens
light level increases = resistance of LDR decreases and volatage over LDR decreases so the Vout increases
if an LDR is at the bottom of a circuit what happens
light level decreases= resistance of LDR increases and volatage over LDR increases so the Vout increases
