why are ultraviolet waves hazardous?
skin tissues can be ionised and damaged by short-wavelength ultraviolet radiation causes skin cancer
why are X-rays hazardous?
they pass through soft body tissue without being absorbed denser tissues such as bone absorbs some X-Ray and can be ionised
why are gamma rays hazardous?
they pass through the body but very high energy waves can ionise atoms in living tissues
what waves are used in fibre optics?
infrared and light
