What is the Electromotive force ?
EMF is the external work expended per unit of charge to produce an electric potential difference across 2 open terminals
What is direct current?
Unidirectional flow of electrical charge
What is potential difference?
The difference in electrical potential between two points in a closed circuit
What are the 4 types of waves
Sine wave
Saw tooth wave
Triangular wave
Square wave
What does the use of a diode do?
Can be adapted to read the peak ac value by rectifying the ac current with the use of diodes
What does all electrical current generate ?
Heat
What can heat be measured by ?
Thermocouple
What is the RMS value?
The effective value of varying voltage or current
