Clear (slow freezing of large supercooled)
Rime (opaque, instantaneous freezing on contact)
Trace - not hazardous even without equipment
Light - problem if over 1 hr, not an issue with de-icing / anti-ice kit in use
Moderate - even short exposure hazardous, anti-ice / de-ice kit necessary
Severe - de-ice / anti-ice can’t reduce or control , immediate diversion necessary

Cloud base > 1,000ft >5km vis - fly RAD - Vis
Cloud base < 1000ft <5km vis
Hold out of the icing band until cleared to descend on GP.
ie. change to the IF pattern, intercept higher, flying with WINGSTAB ON approach procedures.
