7
Q

When do the DG fuel oil transfer pumps start?

A

When the DG’s speed is greater than 280 rpm

8
Q

When do the CV pumps sequence on?

A

0 seconds

9
Q

When do the SI pumps sequence on?

A

5 seconds- only on an SI signal

10
Q

When do the VC chillers sequence on?

A

15 seconds

10
Q

When do the CC pumps sequence on?

A

20 seconds

11
Q

When do the SX pumps sequenco on?

A

25 seconds

12
Q

When do the AF pumps sequence on?

A

35 seconds

13
Q

When do the RH pumps sequence on?

A

10 seconds- only on an SI signal

14
Q

How do the CS pumps sequence on?

A

On in 15 seconds if cnmt pressure is high, if not disabled at 18 seconds and re-enabled at 40 seconds

15
Q

What is the DG rating in kilowatts and amperage for continuous operation?

A

5500 KW at 954 amps

16
Q

What is the DG rating in kilowatts and amperage for a maximum of 2000 hours?

A

5500-5935 KW at 1030 amps

17
Q

What is the DG rating in kilowatts and amperage for a maximum of 2 hours in a 24 hour period?

A

5935-6050 KW at 1050 amps

18
Q

What is isochranous mode?

A

The governor maintains speed generator speed constant irrespective of the load

19
Q

What is droop mode?

A

The load is factored into the speed setting of the governor and the engine speed lowers as load rises

20
Q

What mode will the DG be in if it starts due to an ESF bus UV?

A

Emergency mode

21
Q

What speed and voltage control is avaiable to the operator in Emergency mode?

A

None, the governor maintains speed and voltage constant

22
Q

What is the effect of a loss of control air on a running DG?

A

The DG will stay running but will lose all trip functions except for overspeed

23
Q

When does the pre-lube pump operate?

A

while the DG is in standby and up to 280 rpm

24
Q

When does the jacket water circulating pump operate?

A

While the DG is in standby as necessary to maintain jacket water temp between 120-130 F

25
Q

How many and what size DFO tanks are there for U1?

A

2x 25,000 gallon DFO tanks

26
Q

How many and what size DFO tanks are there for U2?

A

1x 50,000 gallon DFO tank

27
Q

What is the tech spec requirement for DFO per unit?

A

Greater than 44,000 gallons. If less than 44,000 gallons a 48 hour LCO is entered. If less than 41,138, the DG is inoperable.

28
Q

What are the interlocks to manually close the 1A DG output breaker?

A

Breaker 1413 racked in, control power to breaker 1413, No lockouts on breakers 1412, 1413 or 1414, Generator at rated speed and voltage, Sync scope on, Sync check permissive met, control switch to close

29
Q

What are the interlocks to auto close the 1A DG output breaker?

A

Breaker 1413 racked in, control power to breaker 1413, No lockouts on breakers 1412, 1413 or 1414, UV on bus 141, Breakers 1411, 1412 and 1413 open, control switch in after trip

30
Q

What effect does a loss of DC have on a DG in standby?

A

The DG will not start with no DC power.

31
Q

What effect does a loss of DC have on a DG while running?

A

The DG will shutdown on a loss of DC power

32
Q

What is the purpose of the Emergency diesel generators?

A

They provide an independent emergency source of AC power in the event of a LOOP. One DG can supply all safe shutdown loads with or without a LOCA.
