Adenosine

CONTRAINDICATIONS
2nd & 3rd degree AV Block, Sick Sinus Syndrome, Symptomatic bradycardia, unless patient has functioning artificial pacemaker, Hypersensitivity
Albuterol Sulfate
(Proventil, Ventolin)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity, sensitivity to Albuterol Sulfate, Use caution in patient’s with tachydysrythmias greater than 150 bpm, and cardiovascular disorders
Amiodarone
(Cordarone)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Known hypersensitivity, Cardiogenic shock present, Sinus Bradycardia (marked), 2nd or 3r Degree AV Block
Aspirin
(Ascriptin, Bayer, Ecotrin, Empirin)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Ulcers, Gl disorders, Other bleeding disorders, Allergy, Hypersensitivity, Renal failure, Altered LOC, pregnancy
Atropine Sulfate
CONTRAINDICATIONS
None in Cardiac Arrest situation. Hypersensitivity, Glaucoma, Atrial Fibrillation, Ml - use caution
Brilinta
(Ticagrelor)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitiviy; active pathological bleeding, such as peptic ulcer intracranial hemorrhage. Severe hepatic impairment (cirrhosis, Hepatitis B or C, liver failure)
Dextrose
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Sub Q & IM injections Intercerebral bleeding, Hemorrhagic, CVA, Cerebral edema, Delirium Tremors if patient dehydrated.
Diazepam
(Valium)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to drug, known allergy to benzodiazepines, hypotension, head injury, acute narrow angle glaucoma.
Diphenhydramine
(Benadryl)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity, Asthma, COPD, pregnant or lactating females
Dopamine
(Dopastat, lntropin)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Tachyarrhythmia’s, Ventricular Fibrillation
Epinephrine 1:1,000
CONTRAINDICATIONS
None in Cardiac Arrest, Known Hypersensitivity, Do not give to
any patient who has repeatedly used an aerosol bronchodilator
within the past 4 hours. Do not use Epinephrine in males over 45
years old or females over 50 years old. Use with caution in
males over age 35 or in those patients with a known history
of hypertension, thyroid disease or angina.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
None in Cardiac Arrest.
Known Hypersensitivity
Eptifibatide
(lntegrilin)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
“Hypersensitivity, history of bleeding diathesis or evidence of
active abnormal bleeding within the previous 30 days. Severe
Hypertension (systolic blood pressure >200 mm Hg or diastolic
blood pressure > 110 mm Hg) not adequately controlled on
antihypertensive therapy. Major surgery within the preceding 6
weeks. History of stroke within 30 days or any history of hemorrhagic
stroke. Current or planned administration of another parenteral GP
IIb/IIIa inhibitor. Dependency on renal dialysis.”

Flumazenil

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Known hypersensitivity to drug. Cyclic antidepressant overdose.
Cocaine or other stimulant intoxication. < 16 yrs. old.

Hypersensitivity, Hyperglycemia, allergies to beef
or porcine proteins, lnsulinoma, Patients with adrenal gland tumor
Heparin
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Severe thrombocytopenia (the number of platelets is reduced
the most common cause of bleeding disorders), Uncontrollable
active bleeding state.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Glaucoma
Ketorlac

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity, Bleeding or blood clotting disorder,
bleeding in brain, closed head injury, Gl bleeding, pregnancy,
severe kidney disease, or ulcers. Renal patients.
Lidocaine
(Xylocaine)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Bradycardia, 2nd or 3rd degree heart block,
Known hypersensitivity, Stokes-Adams syndrome, WPW
Lidocaine Jelly
(Xylocaine)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Not recommended for tubes ETT # 4.0 to # 2.0
due to blockage of lumen. Anyone hypersensitive
or Children < 10
Magnesium Sulfate
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Heart block or myocardial damage, Hypertension, Caution with
renal impairment. Caution: Reduce dosing with concurrent
narcotics and/or hypnotics
Metoprolol
(Lopressor)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Sinus Bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree,
cardiogenic shock, and overt cardiac failure. Hypersensitivity.
Sick Sinus-Syndrome. Ml with slow heart rate and hypotensive
< 100 mmHg Systolic. Patients with Bronchospastic Diseases
should in general not receive Beta Blockers.
