antihypertensive therapy. Major surgery within the preceding 6
weeks. History of stroke within 30 days or any history of hemorrhagic
stroke. Current or planned administration of another parenteral GP
IIb/IIIa inhibitor. Dependency on renal dialysis.”

renal impairment. Caution: Reduce dosing with concurrent
narcotics and/or hypnotics

Metoprolol

(Lopressor)

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Sinus Bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree,
cardiogenic shock, and overt cardiac failure. Hypersensitivity.
Sick Sinus-Syndrome. Ml with slow heart rate and hypotensive
< 100 mmHg Systolic. Patients with Bronchospastic Diseases
should in general not receive Beta Blockers.

**Midazolm** (Versed) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity, Pregnant, Nursing mothers, Renal failure, Shock, Glaucoma, Acute alcoholic intoxication with depressed vital signs

**Morphine** CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity, Significant hypotension, Acute abdominal conditions, Multisystem trauma, Head injury, Convulsive disorders, Hypovolemia, Asthma, Pregnancy, Exacerbated COPD

**Nalbuphine** (Nubain) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity, patients physically dependent to opioids and who have not been detoxified

**Naloxone** (Narcan) CONTRAINDICATIONS

**Nitroglycerin** (Nitrolingual) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Known Hypersensitivity, hypotension (Systolic BP \< 90 mmHg), Use with Caution in MI, & ICP (increased intracranial pressure). Recent Viagra use, Glaucoma, Cerebral hemorrhage

**Nitrous Oxide** (N2O2) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Impaired level of consciousness, head injury, chest trauma, inability to comply with instructions, decompression sickness, undiagnosed abdominal pain or marked distention, bowel obstruction, shock, COPD.

**Ondansetron** (Zofran) CONTRAINDICATIONS

**Oral Glucose** (lnsta-Glucose, Glutose 15) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not administer to unconscious person or unable to swallow

**Oxygen** CONTRAINDICATIONS

None May depress respirations in rare patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This is not a contraindication to its use, but simply means that such patients must be watched closely and assisted to breathe if the respiratory rate declines.

**Procainamide** (Pronestyl) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity, A-V Block, myasthenia gravis, hypersensitivity to tartrazine

**Sodium Bicarbonate** CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypertension, Convulsions, CHF, and other situations where administration of sodium can be dangerous. Hypoxic and acidotic (i.e. not intubated), severe pulmonary edema,hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, hypernatremia.

**Succinylcholine** (Anectine, Quelicin) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Family history of malignant hyperthermia, Skeletal muscle myopathies, Hypersensitivity, After acute phase of: Major burns, multiple trauma, major crush injury, or abdominal sepsis (over 24 hours) and denervating conditions (CVA. Parkinson's disease, ALS, spinal cord injury), Succinylcholine administered to such individuals may result in severe hyperkalemia which may result in cardiac arrest.

**Tetracaine** (Pontocaine) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Penetrating injury to eye or extrusion of sclera contents. Known allergies.

**Vasopressin** (Pitressin) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Known Hypersensitivity, Caution if liver disease, Seizure disorder, CHF, CAD, Caution if impaired renal function, Asthma, Migraine, Pregnancy, Caution if elderly, Not recommended in conscious patients

**Vecuronium** (Norcuron) CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity / Allergy, Newborns, myasthenia gravis
