Where are pillows placed when patient is in supine position? Why are they placed there?
- under knees (to support low back to rest on the table)
- under head and neck, if needed (for comfort)
What are the draping landmarks, supine, for anterior leg?
Greater trochanter or ASIS
What are the draping landmarks, supine, for abdomen?
ASIS, xiphoid process (inferior “sword-like” extension of sternum)
What are the draping landmarks, supine, for arm?
Under client’s back at the level of the axilla
What are the draping landmarks, supine, for upper chest?
Under client’s back at the level of the axilla

Under client’s back at the level of the axilla
Where are pillow placed when patient is in prone position? Why are they placed there?
- under abdomen (to support and relax low back)
- under ankles, feet and toes (to stabilize legs, and to relax posterior leg muscles)

What are the draping landmarks, prone, for posterior leg including gluteals?
Iliac crest, lateral border of the sacrum
Where are pillows placed when the patient is in sidelying position? Why are they placed there?
- between knees and ankles (1 or 2), usually lengthwise (to stabilize, for comfort)
- under head (1 or 2) (for comfort)
- in front of client’s torso under their uppermost arm (to help stabilize torso, draping security)
