What is the Drager X-am 2500?

A

The Drager X-am 2500 is a 4-in-1 gas detection device. It accurately detects O2, LEL, CO, and H2S. Firefighters should be using the portable gas monitor on ALL medical and investigation calls to determine if the atmosphere is safe. The Drager monitor helps to determine if odorless and colorless gases are producing and IDLH environment.

Step 1: Press the blue +M button three times and select fresh air calibration.
Step 2: Press OKon button to activate fresh air calibration.
Step 3: Press OKon and display will show OK for all sensors. The Drager is now recalibrated; all values set to zero.

Step 2: Press the +M button to select the “Peaks Values” icon.
Step 3: Press OKon button to display logged peak readings.

What is an over range alarm?

A

An over range alarm indicates that the ambient air contains concentrations exceeding the measuring range of the sensor used.
Audible, visual, and vibration alarms activate and repeat.
Leave the IDLH immediately.
This is an A2 alarm and CANNOT be silenced.

Note: The over range symbol alternates in the display with an A2 main alarm symbol.

What is an under range alarm?

A

An under range alarm indicates the measuring range has not been reached.
Audible, visual, and vibration alarms activate and repeat.
The under range symbol is shown in the display that indicated a negative value.
An under range alarm CANNOT be acknowledged.

Drager X-am 2500 Error Code…

A

A “X” symbol in the top right of the display indicated an error.
Press OKon for 3 seconds and the error code will be displayed.
If a code is displayed, press +M to abort the code and return to measuring mode.
If the error code cannot be cleared by pressing +M, call HazTech and report the error.

Note: Dealing with error codes is beyond the scope of 472 operations. Contact HazTech for all Drager X-am 2500 error code concerns.

There is an exclamation point in the upper right corner of the screen for the five minute warm up period.
