Age, Gender Reassignment, Race, Disability, Marriage and Civil Partnership, Religion and Beliefs, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Pregnancy and Maternity
What is the main legislation?
Equality Act 2010 legally protects from discrimination. I am aware of the protected characteristics including age and disability. I am aware promoting diversity and inclusion creates positive environments where individuals feel safe and a sense of belonging to achieve their full potential.
What is equality and anti-discrimination law for?
Eliminate discrimination base on a range of protected characteristics. E.g. migrants, people with disabilities, women, racial discrimination, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

What is diversity?
Colour of skin, religious beliefs, education, value systems. Visual and less obvious.
What is inclusion?
Workplaces culture, choice to include people. Positive inclusion can be comfortable and be themselves.
What is equity?
Not all people have been given an equal chance when growing up or workplace. Person has the right tools and support to fulfil potential.
What is unconscious bias?
People make decision with false beliefs or assumptions. Stereotyping.
Example of how to build a collaborative team.
Executive support, invest in relationship practices, focused HR practices, the right team leaders.
What is ISO 44001?
International standard for collaborative business relationships. Road map for establishing and managing collaborative relationships with suppliers, customers, partners, and internal departments. Generate benefits for all parties.
