Often die of Type 1 RF before fibrotic stage (hypoxia, normal CO2)

A
- major trauma
- chemical injury/toxic inhalation
- circulatory shock
- drug poisoning
- infection (influenza, SARS CoC1/2)
- autoimmune disease
- radiation
can be IDIOPATHIC
