ADH receptors and their assoc fx
A
V1 cause vasoconstriction (hence vasopressin) and are located in the vascular smooth muscle. This response only occurs when ADH levels are high
V2 receptors control water reabsorption of the kidney and are located in the tubular cells of the cortical collecting duct. These mechanisms are responsible for maintaining the osmolality of body fluids.
