Describe basic requirements of a reliable network Flashcards
Fault Tolerance
The ability of a network to continue operating properly even if one or more of its components fail. Redundancy is often implemented to provide fault tolerance.
Scalability
A scalable network can handle increased demand, whether through adding more devices, higher bandwidth, or expanded coverage, without compromising performance.
Quality of Service (QoS)
QoS ensures that high-priority traffic (e.g., voice or video) gets the necessary bandwidth and minimal delay, while lower-priority traffic (e.g., email) may be delayed if needed.
Security
A reliable network ensures data protection and privacy through firewalls, encryption, and other security measures to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
