Q

tooth notation: palmer system/zsigmondy-palmer/chevron/set square

Q

tooth notation: palmer system ‘modified’

A

-quadrants are labeled the same as normal palmer system however labelled UR (upper right), UL (upper left), LR (lower right) and LL (lower left), therefore no longer put in box , eg. = UL1, LLC etc

Q

FDI 2 digit system

A
  • number is used to define each quadrant
  • > 1 = permanent upper right quadrant
  • > 2 = permanent upper left quadrant
  • > 3 = permanent lower left quadrant
  • > 4 = permanent lower right quadrant
  • > 5 = deciduous upper right quadrant
  • > 6 = deciduous upper left quadrant
  • > 7 = deciduous lower left quadrant
  • > 8 = deciduous lower right quadrant
  • > teeth are numbered 1-8 in quadrants going medial - lateral for permanent dentition and 1-5 medial - lateral for deciduous dentition
  • > eg.’s = tooth 21, tooth 72 etc

  • > upper teeth are numbered 1-16 (from upper right laterals to upper left laterals)
  • > lower teeth are numbered 17-32 (from lower left laterals to lower right laterals)
  • deciduous dentition:
  • > upper teeth are labelled A-J (from upper right laterals to upper left laterals)
