Low Time Pilot
Capt with less than 100 hours PIC at Delta or PIC in type at Delta
FO with less than 100 hours SIC at Delta or SIC in type at Delt
If a FO is low time pilot, when must Capt make takeoff and landings
- SAQ airports
- RVR less than 4000 or 3/4 sm
- Contaminated Runways
- BA less than good(5)
- Crosswind greater than 15 kts
- Suspected windshear
- Any other circumstances determined by the Capt.
When does exemption 5549 not apply?
- RVR less than 4000(3/4 sm) and
- Crosswind greater than 15kts and
- BA less than good.
When does Captain need to notify dispatcher?
- lateral deviations of more than 100nm
- vertical deviation of more than 4000’ for more than 30 min.
- change of ETA by more than 15min
- arriving with less than FAR fuel reserves
- greater than planned fuel consumption
- any diversions
- ATC issues supplementary route or CDR
- pre-dispatch EFB failure that requires the use of a Go File
- in flight EFB failure resulting in less than 2 working EFBs
Takeoff Alternate
FOM 14.1.4
- required when flight is unable to return to departure airport with CAT I approach minimums.
- flight time to takeoff alternate is calculated at one engine inop in cruise in still air and must be within 1 hour flying time.(A319 - 325nm)(A320/321 - 340nm)
Exemption 10332
FOM 14.1.5
- No alternate required if ETA(+/- 1 hour), ceiling at least 1000’AGL, visibility at least 3sm, operable CAT I approach, ILS must have mins of 200 and 1/2 or lower, no TS within 1 hour of ETA)
When must crew land at nearest suitable airport?
QRH
- red “Land ASAP” on ECAM
- fire, smoke, or fumes continue
- Both fire bottles discharged
- APU fire bottle discharged
- Normal pitch, roll, yaw cannot be controlled
- 1 AC power source remaining
- 1 hydraulic system remains
- Any other situation determined by crew.
When is a static takeoff required?
When RVR is less than 1600.
Static takeoff is stop on runway, then roll.
What is minimum and emergency fuel on the fleet?
- 319/320/321NEO (Min fuel 3500, Emer fuel 3000, go around and return 1000)
- 321CEO (Min fuel 4000, emer fuel 3000, go around 1500)
Minimum fuel definition
Hold at 1500’ for 30min and fly 1 approach
Emergency fuel definition
- Initiate missed approach at 200’
- Climb to 1500’
- Fly 1 approach from a 10mile final
Definition of go around fuel and return
- Missed approach at 200’
- Climb to 1500’. Turn 7nm final

- Must accept above 1000’
Minimum runway width
- 148ft
- 100ft with certain exceptions.(FOM 14.1.2.2)
