Explain shift cultivation / slash and burn
A
A sustainable subsistence farming method used by tribes. A small area of land gets cleared and the vegetation is burned providing nutrients
The soil remains fertile for a few years for the tribe to grow crops. When the fertility is exhausted the tribes repeats and clears another small area
The original area gets regenerated as it receives nutrients and seeds from the surrounding vegetation.
