What is Common Law
Common law is legal doctrine that is derived from the decisions of judges it does not come directly from what is ascribed in law itself

What is doctrine of precedent
Doctrine of precedent is the notion that lower courts must adhere to the decisions made in higher courts and should make decisions in line with the decisions made at similar level courts if the facts at issue are similar in each case
What is intersex
An intersex individual is someone born with both male and female traits
What is transsexualism
A transexual individual is someone born one gender who has made a shift towards another gender be it male female or otherwise
What is gender identity
Sex is ones physical traits at birth, Gender is on an individual level and can shift throughout life. Ones gender identity is not always obvious and additional care and professionalism should be taken
What is cross dressing
Someone who crossdresses may not identify as the gender that they are presenting as. Additional care is necessary and one should attempt to ensure that the interests of the individual arrested are taken into account
