Define deadly force
Force that a person uses causing death or serious bodily harm.
When is deadly force authorized
Lesser means have been exhausted
there is risk of death or injury to innocent people
What are the components of the deadly force triangle

The person must have the ability to cause serious harm by being present

The individual must have the actual ability to inflict harm

The person must indicate their intent to cause harm

Define Combatant
People engaged in hostilities during an armed conflict
Define Lawful Enemy Combatants
Members of the regular armed forces of a state

Persons not entitled to combatant immunity who engage in acts against the US

Members who don’t take part in conflict
