Curb Markings Flashcards
WHITE
You may only stop long enough to pick up or drop off passengers or mail.
GREEN
You may park for a limited time. The time limit is usually found on a sign or painted on the curb.
YELLOW
You may stop here only long enough to load or unload passengers or freight no longer than posted. Drivers of noncommercial vehicles are usually required to stay with their vehicle
RED
No stopping, standing, or parking. (A bus may stop at a red zone marked for buses.)
BLUE
Blue curbs indicate parking for the disabled. You must have a DMV-issued placard (window sign) or your license plates must be specially marked to park here. The blue disabled symbol also marks parking spaces and special access areas for disabled people.
Placard abuse (i.e., loaning your placard to a friend or family member, or using somebody’s placard) can result in the loss of special parking privileges. It is a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of up to $1,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both.
