1.Place algae balls and same volume of indicator solution in each bottle and put lids on
2.Check the colour of Indicator against PH scale and record starting PH
3.Use a metre ruler and I place the uncovered bottles at specific distances away from the light
4.Leave the bottles for 1 hours minimum

As distance decreases, light intensity decreases and so does the rate of photosynthesis. This is because energy transferred by light needed for photosynthesis to take place

1. Note the position of the air bubble (in the capillary tube) on the ruler
2. Note the position of the bubble on the ruler after a number of minutes
3. Divide distance moved by the bubble by the time taken
